Services
CranioSacral
Therapy is both
fascinating and amazing. This work facilitates the body’s natural healing
process, proving it to be effective for a wide variety of ailments. This
treatment utilizes a light touch to reduce restrictions in the connective
tissue of the body including the brain and spinal cord and related
structures. It supports the health and function of the central nervous
system and the body as a whole by stimulating the flow of cerebral spinal
fluid which cushions the central nervous system and assists with the
transfer of metabolic wastes into the interstitial fluids.
Orthopedic Massage uses weight bearing assessment as
well as postural and bony landmark palpation to guide the treatment, generally
consisting of myofascial release, muscle energy technique, passive
positional release, and cross fiber friction to balance the myofascial structures
to achieve a natural alignment and improved function of the musculoskeletal
system.
Myofascial Release This technique accesses and
releases the connective tissues that encase your muscles and muscle bundles
and connects to a greater fascial network.
Muscle Energy
Technique This technique
lengthens and strengthens muscles while reducing adhesions and hyper
tonicities. It also increases range of motion and function by utilizing
Swedish gymnastics and proprioceptor neuromuscular facilitation to reset
muscle proprioceptors.
Passive Positional
Release Also
referred to as Strain Counter Strain. This technique increases the length
of a muscle by utilizing the reflex effect of the muscle spindles. It is
highly effective in reducing pain and tension.
Cross Fiber Friction This technique increases muscle
length by resetting muscle proprioceptors and brakes up collagen fibers,
aiding in the reduction of adhesions and scar tissue. It is followed by a
passive stretch that re-aligns collagen fibers along the lines of stress.
Deep
Tissue This from reduces pain and tension associated with overexertion
and stress. It is characterized by
gradual, penetrating, constant compressions and slow friction strokes
applied parallel to the muscle fibers.
Swedish Massage
This form can decrease pain, adhesions and tension while increasing
circulation, range of motion and relaxation. While the spectrum of
techniques belonging to this modality are broad including some that are
quite vigorous, it has become a strange industry standard to offer only a
few techniques mainly effleurage (oil spreading) and petrissage
(kneading) when one requests a Swedish massage treatment. This is why
Swedish is commonly known as relaxation massage. Please let me know your
preference.
Manual Lymphatic
Drainage This
treatment stimulates interstitial fluid circulation and the lymphatic
system, reducing inflammation and edema. M.L.D.
also stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system.
